OCALA - The local man who said he was bringing Kid Rock here for a Feb. 7 concert at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, Tuesday said it has been postponed until at least June.
Mike Myers said the concert has been postponed for "scheduling" reasons. Attempts to contact Kid Rock's representatives were unsuccessful on Tuesday. The singer's Web site had no indication of any tour date in Ocala. The Feb. 7 Ocala date was never listed on Rock's Web site, although Myers announced it in October. "It has been rescheduled for a later date, which will be in June or later this summer," Myers said. He added no refunds will be offered because the concert has been "postponed, not cancelled." If the show is cancelled, there would be refunds, Myers said.
Myers added about 1,000 tickets have been sold, at prices of $75, $55 and $35. He said all inquiries from ticket holders should be directed to him at 352-208-0056 or by e-mail at elvisfb@cs.com. A new date for the concert will announced "soon," Myers said, adding it would probably be in the next two weeks.
"I'm sorry it has been postponed because I really want to see him," said Crystal Hills, a Kid Rock fan who lives in Ocala. "I hope he reschedules and I will try and buy a ticket." Roxanne Nunn, who schedules dates for the Livestock Pavilion, said that Myers had booked Feb. 7. But, she added, the Pavilion is booked through early summer and it may be difficult getting another date booked. Myers said he would consider other venues in the area if he was unable to do the concert at the Pavilion. Myers has been attempting to bring major national acts here. Last year he brought in Bret Michaels for an acoustic show that was a sellout at Coconut Jacks Beach Club.
