Do they think he cares about 25,000? I don't. If he cared that much he would have been taking care of his business.
Kid Rock lawsuit tossed By Chris Jackett STAFF WRITER
Kid Rock may have scheduled one too many events to promote his recent album, as his failure to appear in Oakland County Circuit Court will now cost him $25,000.
The Detroit musician, 36, of Clarkston, whose legal name is Robert Ritchie, defaulted on a lawsuit Nov. 14 when he failed to show up before Judge Shalina Kumar.
"The plaintiff (Ritchie) was asked to appear and he did not, so the case was dismissed," said Debra Kalajian, clerk for Judge Kumar.
Kid Rock had filed suit against Kelly Ann Kozlowski, 28, of Novi, on March 19 for false light invasion of property, defamation and trespassing after Kozlowski lost an earlier suit against him where she accused Kid Rock of getting angry and pushing her down into a snow bank at his Clarkston studio on March 8.
When Kid Rock sued Kozlowski, she counter sued him for $25,000, claiming emotional distress and public humiliation resulting from news reports of her allegations against Kid Rock.
With Kid Rock's suit thrown out, Kozlowski was granted her counter suit, awarding her the $25,000 she sought.
