Kid Rock’s Rock and Roll Revival Tour has already got his rap influences covered as Rev. Run from the legendary rap group Run-DMC is slated to go on tour with the Detroit rocker.
And now go ahead and check off the Kid’s rock influences too.
Legendary Southern Rock guitarist Dickey Betts (of The Allman Brothers Band), and vocalist Peter Wolf, front-man for the J.Geils Band are both joining Rock on his 2008 Rock and Roll Revival Tour.
The artists are rotating tour dates. Rev. Run and Dickey Betts are both slated to join Kid Rock and his already-large Twisted Brown Trucker for the 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 show at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
"We want to give people the greatest night of their life — the best party, the best music, the best show. And this show does all that and more,” Kid Rock said.
Rock, whose latest CD, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Jesus” still sits high on the charts, starts his 2008 tour on Jan. 25 in Evansville, Indiana.
In the past weeks, Rock has performed twice on "MTV's New Years Eve Spectacular", once featuring a tour preview of his performance with Reverend Run, "Late Night with Conan O’Brien", and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." His new single "Amen" is racing up the charts, and the companion video is set to premiere everywhere next week.
Kid Rock will join Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5 and Samantha Ronson this weekend in Detroit at the GM Style event at the North American International Auto Show.
Tickets for the Rock and Roll Revival Tour at Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 . Tickets are $45 general admission floor and $39.50 reserved seating.
