Cat Power, Missy Elliott For Grammy Tour
Apr 3, 2008
Story by: Michael Tedder
What do Busta Rhymes, Cat Power, Colbie Cailat, John Legend, Kid Rock, Ozomatli, Missy Elliott, Seal and Pitbull have in common? Nothing, you say? Well, dear reader, consider yourself corrected, as all of the artists will be participating in one of most eclectic outings in recent memory, The 50th Grammy Celebration Concert Tour. Though all of the artists will, unfortunately, not be on the bill all at the same time. The tour is meant to to celebrate the legacy of the Grammy Awards, though some of the artists (John Legend, Five G's) have more of the statues on their mantle than others (Cat Power, Zero G's)
The tour, which is sponsored by the T-Mobile Sidekick, will hit five cities, starting with the Vic Theatre in Chicago on April 3. A select number of tickets for the show will be available through in-store promotional events at T-Mobile stores in cities on the tour's run. And as much fun as it would be to see a zoology themed-night with Cat Power, Pit Bull and Seal, each stop on the tour will have a separate, genre-based line-up.
Tour Dates For The 50th Grammy Celebration Concert Tour :
04/03 - Chicago, Ill - Vic Theatre(at Power, Colbie Caillat and John Legend)
04/09 - New York, NY - Webster Hall (Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott)
04/16 - Miami, Fl - Fillmore Miami Beach
(Kat Deluna, Ozomatli and Pitbull)
04/23 - Dallas, TX - Granada Theatre (Kid Rock)
04/30 - Los Angeles, CA - Avalon (Seal, Sean Kingston)
