Woman's Kid Rock suit headed for trial Mike Martindale / The Detroit News PONTIAC -- A lawsuit that alleges recording artist Kid Rock roughed up an invited late-night guest at his Clarkston-area studio more than a year ago appears headed for trial in Oakland Circuit Court.
Kelly Ann Kozlowski, 28, of Novi is suing Rock -- whose real name is Robert J. Ritchie -- claiming she was traumatized after an alleged incident at his studio. Kozlowski filed a police report in March 2007, claiming she and a friend ran into Ritchie at a Clarkston bar and he invited her to visit the studio to hear music. Later, she claimed, he pushed her into a snow bank when she wouldn't spend the night.
Ritchie showed up Thursday at Oakland Circuit Judge Shalina Kumar's courtroom for a settlement conference in the claim. Afterwards, attorneys said nothing was resolved at the meeting and jury selection is set for April 17.

"My client is ready to defend himself to such allegations," said William Horton, Ritchie's attorney.
Ritchie, uncharacteristically dressed in a pin-stripe suit and necktie, slipped in and out of court before 9 a.m., leaving the meeting through a side door. He could not be reached for comment. He has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and also has witnesses who told investigators Kozlowski was being rude and belligerent and finally was escorted out of the studio.
